Why "indoor-only" homes? The answer is simple; for the safety and welfare of your companion.

Coyotes: The rise of the coyote population on the Cape has lead to broad daylight attacks and numerous other suspected attacks. Without a natural enemy on the Cape, coyotes will continue to feed on our pets if given an opportunity. The same holds true for other wild animals on and off the Cape. Skunks, raccoons and other animals do not always take kindly to a cats' curiosity. Please keep your cat indoors.

Feral Cats: These are wild cats who sometimes have a nasty temperament. They may fight with your cat or convince them to become strays. They may also be infected with a disease or illness which they could then pass on to your cat. Your cat can become infected by other wild animals as well. Please keep your cat indoors.

Uncontrolled Pregnancies: If your cat is not spayed or neutered, they may become pregnant, or get another cat pregnant, thus compounding to the current cat over-population. Please keep your cat indoors. Visit http://spayusa.org/pages/cats.html for the big picture.

Fleas, Ticks and Ear Mites: No one wants to deal with these little pests. Nor do we want them in our homes. Please keep your cat indoors.

Road kill: Simple Law of Physics - The moving vehicle will win Every time! Please keep your cat indoors.

Medical Experiments: It is fact, not fiction, that some laboratories will pay individuals money to bring them stray cats. However, there is nothing to stop these individuals from taking ANY cat they find outside and bringing it to these labs where they might be subjected to painful or even lethal tests and experiments. Please, please keep your cat indoors.
